These walks offer the opportunities for non-members to bring the family and start walking in the countryside on walks led by Birmingham Ramblers members.
It is very helpful for the walk leader to have prior knowledge of numbers that will be on this walk. We ask you to complete this very brief form to help with our planning of the walk to ensure that we can safely accommodate all who wish to join us. A linear walk of around 4 1/2 miles, with easy walking on hard surfaced paths.
Meet outside Erdington Methodist Church Station Road Erdington Birmingham B23 6TX (opposite Erdington train station) at 10:30am. The walk leader will meet you here.
By Public Transport: Train: 10:06 am from New Street Station, usually platform 8, arrives at Erdington station at 10:20 am; but check before travelling. Bus: The X3, X4, X5 and 110 buses from stop CS1 in Upper Corporation Street all stop at Wilton Road Erdington. The X4 departs at 10:00am. Alighting at Wilton Road, continue along Sutton New Road and turn left into Station Road; just a few minutes’ walk to the church.
By car: Not advised as this is a linear walk
A linear walk of around 41/2 miles, with easy walking on hard surfaced paths. See Erdington Parks in all their Autumn finery, plenty of water birds and a Tiny Forest. After a short street walk, we enter Bleak Hill Park which leads us to Witton Lakes and on to circuit Brookvale Park. Our route will then take us around the other side of Witton Lakes and into Perry Common Meadows arriving in Witton Lodge Road. Then passing the small Ring Park, we can stop at a small café for drinks etc. The number 7 bus will take us back to Birmingham city Centre.
