Walk leader: Brenda Cameron

This is a circular 4.75 miles walk from Bromsgrove Station to Tardebigge Locks, reservoir and church.

Meet at Bromsgrove Station, New Road, Bromsgrove, B60 2LX, at 11.00 am.

By train: the 10.23 am train leaves Birmingham New Street station and arrives Bromsgrove at 10.56 am. The train from New Street to Bromsgrove usually goes from Platform 12B, but check first. Please also make sure you catch the correct train, the 10.23.  The return fare is £7.80. West Midlands bus pass holders need to buy a ticket from Longbridge to Bromsgrove. For the return journey there are three trains per hour.

By car: There is a large car park at Bromsgrove station (B60 2LX) for which the daily charge on Saturday at time of writing is £1.50.

From Bromsgrove station we soon join the Monarch’s Way path and then quiet lanes and tracks to Tardebigge and its fine 18th century church sitting on a small ridge above the canal. We have a break in the church grounds so we can take in the serenity of the surroundings. Back to the canal which we follow passing a series of locks to Tardebigge Reservoir, a large body of water with its birdlife in a picturesque setting alongside the canal. Shortly after, we leave the canal and take a field path leading us slightly downhill towards a lane leading back to Bromsgrove Station. For those who would like to enjoy some refreshment before getting the return train we can use one of the outlets near the station. There are three trains an hour back towards Birmingham. Distance of walk: 4.75 miles with a break at halfway.

Expressions of interest for this walk will close at 21.00 on Wednesday 18 September 2024. After this, please email bhamramblersenquiries@gmail.com or contact us through our contact form at https://cobra.eventcube.io/support-hub/contact to enquire about any late availability for the walk.

==============================================================

If you later find that you are unable to join us it would be helpful if you let us know by sending an email to bhamramblersenquiries@gmail.com or let us know though our contact form at https://cobra.eventcube.io/support-hub/contact - this will be passed on to the walk leader and will prevent any delay to the start of the walk should the leader be waiting for you.
