Walk leader: John Chapman

We meet at the park entrance by the X14 bus stop at 10.30 am. The address for the car park in Pype Hayes Park is 995 Chester Rd, Erdington, Birmingham, B24 0HG. The X14 bus to Pype Hayes Park departs from Corporation Street Tesco Express bus stop. Attendees arriving by car will need to arrive in time to walk from the car park through the park to meet at that entrance.

The walk takes in Plantsbrook Nature Reserve and then proceeds along the Plants Brook to Walmley. At Walmley we lunch either at the The Fox Stonehouse pub or picnic nearby. We will order when we get to the pub. The linear option of the walk ends here, after approx 4 miles. Attendees can then return on the X14 bus from the stop opposite the pub to either Birmingham or to Pype Hayes Park to recover their motor car. Those wishing to make this a 6-mile circular walk can accompany the leader to retrace their steps along the Plants Brook to arrive back at Pype Hayes Park. Much of the walk is on hard surfaced paths, but earthen paths with plentiful tree roots and possibly some mud confront us in the Plants Brook Nature Reserve.

Expressions of interest for this walk will close at 06.00 on Thursday 21 November 2024. After this, please email bhamramblersenquiries@gmail.com or contact us through our contact form at https://cobra.eventcube.io/support-hub/contact to enquire about any late availability for the walk.

==============================================================

If you later find that you are unable to join us it would be helpful if you let us know by sending an email to bhamramblersenquiries@gmail.com or let us know though our contact form at https://cobra.eventcube.io/support-hub/contact - this will be passed on to the walk leader and will prevent any delay to the start of the walk should the leader be waiting for you.
